Terminal User Interface & CLI

Operate STRATUM from a terminal when a graphical interface is unnecessary, unavailable or simply not your preference.

TERMINAL OPERATIONS

Some people like this. We know who you are.

STRATUM includes a controller-facing terminal user interface for operators who prefer a keyboard-driven operational surface or need to work through SSH, serial connections, constrained links, headless systems or remote management paths where launching a graphical browser is unnecessary.

The TUI connects to the STRATUM controller and presents datacenters, workers and virtual machines as an operational hierarchy. The selected object immediately exposes runtime details and available actions, so common datacenter and workload operations can be performed without reconstructing the environment from command output.

One terminal application, interactive and scriptable

The STRATUM terminal application supports both an interactive TUI and direct CLI arguments. Operators can move through the infrastructure interactively when exploring or troubleshooting, then use command-line arguments for repeatable actions, shell scripts, remote runbooks and automation.

This makes the terminal interface useful beyond personal preference. The same operational surface can fit an administrator on a laptop, a remote SSH session, a serial console, an out-of-band maintenance path or a scripted workflow that needs direct control of STRATUM datacenters and workloads.

INTERFACE

Read the datacenter, worker and VM hierarchy

The left side organizes workloads beneath their execution workers. Connected workers expose current CPU and memory use, while each workload reports its runtime state. Stopped or unplaced systems remain visible separately so placement and execution state are obvious before an action is selected.

The DETAILS & ACTIONS pane on the right shows the selected workload state, worker placement, virtual machine manager, vCPU and memory allocation, template and image. The action list exposes the operations available for that object, including power management, snapshots, cold movement to another worker, VM configuration, deletion, VM creation and refresh.

REMOTE OPERATIONS

A full infrastructure control surface can fit through a terminal

STRATUM can span datacenters, edge systems and remote infrastructure, Navy ships, aircraft, tanks, and satellites. In those environments, the most dependable administrative path may still be SSH and a terminal, or serial connection. The TUI keeps infrastructure control available when bandwidth, display capability or remote access conditions make a large browser interface undesirable.

The terminal interface complements Mission Planner, NOC and STRATUM AI. It gives operators another first-class way to reach the same controller and act on the same infrastructure model, while the CLI side makes those operations usable from repeatable automation and remote procedures.

DISTINCTION

STRATUM operations TUI versus stratum-host

The STRATUM TUI documented here is the controller-facing interface for operating datacenters, workers and workloads. The separate stratum-host application has its own TUI and CLI for preparing a Linux host, configuring the STRATUM runtime, managing the application container and enrolling workers. Both are terminal-friendly, but they operate at different layers of the platform.
