Execution Policy & CPU Share Factor

CPU Share Factor is a STRATUM execution-policy control for allocating CPU capacity when oversubscription is enabled.

EXECUTION

CPU allocation policy

CPU Share Factor controls how aggressively STRATUM can share host CPU capacity across workloads. Use the default policy unless the environment intentionally allows CPU oversubscription.

This is a STRATUM execution policy applied to Continuum workers; it is not a separate HPC scheduler setting.

Set CPU Share Factor to control how STRATUM allocates execution capacity when workloads contend for CPU resources. Apply the policy deliberately when oversubscription is intended.
