Apply Host Setup
Apply Host Setup once the host identity and settings are correct. This prepares the host and loads the STRATUM application image without making the application image itself the durable data store.
Prepare the host
Apply Host Setup after the host identity and Host Manager settings are correct. The operation prepares the operating system for the selected STRATUM role and loads the supplied STRATUM container image into the configured runtime.
Host setup changes the host; it does not store durable STRATUM state inside the application image. Watch the output through completion and stop on the first reported error instead of continuing to startup.
Procedure
Open Apply Host Setup
From the Host Manager Dashboard, press Tab to move focus into the Actions area, then press A for Apply Host Setup. Host Manager asks for confirmation before it changes the host.
Confirm Apply Host Setup
Confirm the Apply Host Setup operation. Host Manager then begins preparing the operating system for the selected STRATUM node role.
Container Image Layers Loading
Host Manager loads the STRATUM OCI image into Docker or Podman as immutable image layers. STRATUM packages platform components across networking, storage, execution, security, and supporting runtime content in these layers. New releases publish new layer digests instead of modifying an existing layer in place, and container registries only transfer layers the target does not already have. That means an update can move only the changed layers instead of retransmitting the entire STRATUM image—the same CI/CD delivery model used for containerized applications, now applied to datacenter infrastructure.
Host Setup System Configuration
Review the host-setup output while STRATUM applies the required system configuration for this node. Stop on any reported error instead of continuing to startup.
Host Setup Services And Network
The final host-setup stage prepares the required services and network settings. Return to Host Manager only after the operation completes cleanly.
The outcome you should see
Host Setup finishes without an error, the STRATUM image is loaded into the selected container runtime, and the host is ready for the remaining Host Manager configuration.
