Create an Arsenal Template

Create an Arsenal Template with its identity, category, visual node icon, guest architecture, virtual machine manager (VMM), firmware, CPU, memory, network, and advanced hardware defaults.

ARSENAL TEMPLATE

Define the reusable system

An Arsenal Template defines the reusable identity and default hardware profile for a workload: name, category, visual node icon, guest architecture, virtual machine manager (VMM), firmware, CPU, memory, interfaces, acceleration, and advanced hardware options. STRATUM VMM is the next-generation STRATUM virtual machine manager; Legacy VMM remains available for older or unusual VM workloads that require the legacy execution path.

STRATUM deliberately treats workload definition more like an application image than a hand-tuned server. The template and its versioned VM image form a reusable baseline; each deployed VM receives its own runtime state rather than redefining the baseline by hand. That is the STRATUM model: fewer knobs where the platform can make the decision, more repeatability, and a design that scales from one host to a global Continuum. Simple is what scales.

PROCEDURE

Procedure

STEP 01

New Template Identity

Set the Arsenal Template name, description, category, and visual node icon. These values identify the workload everywhere the template appears in Arsenal and System Arsenal.

STEP 02

New Template Runtime Settings

Choose the guest architecture, virtual machine manager (VMM), firmware, CPU, memory, network defaults, and other runtime settings inherited by new deployments. Use STRATUM VMM for the normal next-generation path; use Legacy VMM only for workloads that require the older compatibility path.

STEP 03

New Template Advanced Hardware Settings

Use the advanced section only when the workload needs hardware-specific behavior. Options include physical GPU passthrough and STRATUM GPU, which can present a GPU from anywhere in the Continuum to the VM as a PCI-based accelerator, as well as machine-model, nested-virtualization, and other specialized settings.

RESULT

The outcome you should see

The Arsenal Template family is available with the intended architecture, VMM, firmware, hardware defaults, visual identity, and advanced options.
