Configure STRATUM Host Manager
Use Host Manager to define runtime, host, network, certificate, demo-data, GPU, and passthrough settings before starting STRATUM.
Host-specific configuration
Host Manager groups the settings that belong to the node role rather than to an individual workload: container runtime, host preparation, networking, certificates, demo data, GPU policy, passthrough, and PCI inventory.
The defaults cover most installations. Change these settings only when the site, node role, hardware, or security policy requires something different.
Procedure
Host Manager Runtime Settings
Defaults work for most deployments, but they can be adjusted when needed. Select the runtime-specific options used on this host.
Host Manager Host Setup Settings
Unless this node is running on custom edge hardware or is being integrated into a specialized environment, these host-preparation settings normally do not need to change. They remain available for deployments that require explicit operating-system tuning for the selected node role.
Host Manager Network Settings
Most deployments never need to change these values. Adjust them when the site would collide with STRATUM addressing or UDP defaults, or when the physical network has special requirements. If the deployment uses jumbo frames and the STRATUM Continuum will not connect to lower-MTU sites such as cloud or WAN locations, the Fabric payload MTU can be increased to a value slightly below the physical MTU. The pnet mode also controls how the host reaches the physical network: LAN Bridge is for normal Layer-2 environments, while the cloud-safe bridge mode is for restricted platforms where creating a conventional bridge is not permitted.
Host Manager Certificate Settings
Choose how the STRATUM HTTPS endpoint is secured. The default self-signed certificate mode works well for initial deployments; production sites can replace it with their own trusted certificate and key. Use a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for the controller hostname so the HTTPS certificate and security model have a stable identity.
Host Manager Demo Data Settings
Enable demo data only when sample content or mock resources are intentionally required for a demonstration or test environment.
Host Manager GPU Policy
Set the host GPU policy that controls how AI accelerator resources are exposed to STRATUM.
Host Manager GPU Passthrough
Enable direct GPU passthrough only when a physical GPU should be assigned directly to a STRATUM guest instead of being managed through STRATUM GPU. STRATUM GPU is the remotely shared path: a GPU elsewhere in the Continuum can appear inside the VM as a PCI-based AI accelerator device while access traverses the STRATUM Continuum mesh.
Host Manager PCI Inventory
Review the detected PCI inventory to understand what hardware the host can see. In the current STRATUM release, non-GPU PCI passthrough is not supported, so this PCI inventory view is informational for non-GPU devices.
The outcome you should see
Press Ctrl-S to save the Host Manager configuration. The required node-role settings are stored, and any advanced GPU options are enabled only where the hardware and deployment require them.
