Authentication Providers
Select the identity source used for sign-in. Authentication establishes who the user is; STRATUM Groups and Roles determine what that user can do.
Authentication and authorization are separate
Choose the authentication provider that proves user identity for this STRATUM controller. Local STRATUM Users and supported external providers are selected here.
After authentication is configured, use Users, Groups, and Roles to control access inside STRATUM. If Microsoft Active Directory is selected, continue with the dedicated Active Directory configuration page.

Select the authentication source STRATUM should use. External identity proves who the user is; STRATUM roles and groups still determine what that identity may do.
The outcome you should see
The intended authentication provider is selected. If Active Directory is used, continue with the directory connection and mapping settings before adding user authorization.
