Migrate a VMware VM into STRATUM
Move an existing VMware guest into STRATUM by exporting it as OVF, converting it with STRATUM Migrate, and importing the resulting Arsenal bundle.
Overview
Export a VM from VMware ESXi/vSphere to OVF.
Run STRATUM Migrate on the OVF to create an Arsenal bundle, then import the resulting bundle through Arsenal.
Procedure
Download STRATUM Migrate
Download the prebuilt STRATUM Migrate binary for the target platform from the official GitHub Releases page. Customers do not need to clone the source repository or compile the tool before migrating a VM.
Export Vmware VM To Ovf
Export the source VMware VM as OVF from ESXi/vSphere. Keep the OVF and referenced virtual disks together for conversion.
Convert Ovf To Arsenal Bundle
Run STRATUM Migrate against the exported OVF to create the Arsenal bundle, then import that bundle into STRATUM Arsenal.
The outcome you should see
The converted workload imports into Arsenal and is available as STRATUM content rather than remaining tied to the VMware export.
